Bela-Bela is situated in the Waterberg region of the Limpopo province in South Africa. Bela-Bela is ideally located off the N1 road between Pretoria (94km) and Polokwane (161km).
Previously named Warmbaths due to the the calming hot springs discovered here by the Tswana approximately 200 years ago, who had named them Bela-Bela. Bela-Bela meaning "water which boils on its own" is the towns biggest attraction.
The name Warmbad/Warmbaths was replaced in 2002 in favour of the original Tswana title. A holiday resort and Spa has grown up around the 53degree C springs, where tourists will find restaurants and shopping facilities at the waterfront in this town.
The hot springs are located on the grounds of Forever Resorts Warmbaths. The climate here is mild during the winter months in South Africa with mostly sunny days, with pleasant summer months. This even temperature adds to its popularity with tourists.
The town is not only about hot spring water, it serves a wide radius of mixed farming area and has a good selection of accommodation options from holiday flats to well stocked game reserves.
There are many activities and attractions in Bela-Bela to cater for the whole family.
